Hi all, Not much to share, since we have only had four teaching days since our last post. So, PICTURES! :) Ryan P.E. One of the best ways to create success with our kids is to have them do it together, cheering each other on, working together to triumph over a challenge and celebrating a job well done as a team. K Blog 2017-2018, February 15th

   We recently celebrated 100 days of school at Black Pine Circle! The day started with a Monday Community Gathering, where the fifth grade shared collections of 100 items that they gathered from around the school. Their collections included books, pencils, and other classroom supplies. They ended the gathering by performing 100 jumps on stage (20 fifth graders X 5 jumps each = 100 jumps!) We continued our exploration in the K classroom by creating 100 day crowns and reading the story "100 Day Worries." Whats  Happening In K? Reading Popcorn words: want, has, it, why We learned a new reading strategy: sounding out CVC words (consonant, vowel, consonant)  Partner reading began and we practiced asking our partners for help with difficult words.
