K Blog 2017-2018, October 15th
Fall is here and changes are happening everywhere! The kindergartners are participating in some guided discovery around these changes and exploring what they mean for the weather, and their school lives. We have begun a continuing discussion on the colors of fall, and why the leaves on trees
change their colors in this season. We also have a new calendar theme this month centered around fallleaves, so be sure to ask your kindergartner about it!
Reminders:
- We have our first class field trip on Friday the 27th of October. Remember to fill out the permissions form on the parent portal, and indicate wether you are willing to drive.
- Our Halloween Festival is the 31st of October. Costumes are optional, but traditionally, most students dress for the festivities.

Kindergarten Music - 10/15/2017
The Kindergarteners are quickly learning the ropes in music class! I get to see them three times a week for twenty minutes. We are learning many new songs and are beginning to work with some small percussion instruments, namely egg shakers and rhythm sticks. Ask them to clap a call and response pattern with you!

Kindergarten Art
In art class we have been making papel picado! The students were amazed with what a few small cuts can do to folded paper. Come take a look at the new Dia de los Muertos inspired art display in the lower school hallway. The kindergartners contributions to this K-5 art installment really make it feel festive!
